Job Description

Reporting to the Commercial Manager you will take responsibility for all commercial aspects of the delivery of projects from assisting the pre-construction team in cost planning to managing and leading larger schemes from a value of £10 million to £40 million. You will act as the client lead, directing and influencing site teams on all commercial activities from pre-contract through to final account to include preparing tenders, risk analysis and management, building contract administration, scoping sub-contractor agreements and work packages, setting of commercial targets, monitoring and influencing commercial and operational performance on site, developing business processes to enhance future commercial performance, business development, dispute resolution, negotiation, legal issues and contractual control. You will also be responsible for coaching and mentoring less experienced members of staff.

Experience & Skills Required

You will have a proven track record as a Senior Quantity Surveyor or similar managing and leading complex new build and refurbishment projects of a value in excess of £20 million to include high-rise, concrete frame ideally within residential developments and hotels. Recent hands-on experience of complex refurbishments to include internal demolition and rebuild is highly desirable together with pre-construction expertise, providing commercial expertise to planning and build. You will be a highly driven, focused individual with extensive commercial and contractual knowledge of construction operations. You will be confident in negotiation and dealing with legal issues ensuring legal compliance.
