Job Description

A new role reporting to the Senior Estimator and working with the preconstruction team. A family-owned main contractor with great standards of work and values. One to watch as they continue to win opportunities to tender on frameworks and win more and more local work. You will be responsible for managing all aspects of the estimating and tendering process for the company’s current and future development and success in delivering projects to a high standard. Typical duties will include assisting the team in the preparing, negotiating and analysing costs for tenders and to maximise the potential project margin by adding value to the construction process by ensuring the supply chain understands fully what they are pricing, driving best value from suppliers and subcontractors to minimise the project cost and enhance value for money, while still achieving the required standards and quality, adhering to industry regulations, delivering to the Construction Team a robust Cost Plan / Estimate, which can be achieved if the tender bid is successful. As well as advising project teams on commercial and contractual matters you will also assess tender documents to ensure sufficient information is available to prepare tender and visit site and take off quantities and produce robust cost plans.

Experience & Skills Required

As well as working in an estimating & tendering role and working on multiple projects concurrently, you will have a good working knowledge of standard forms of measurement and contract forms both traditional and D&B. You will have the ability and experience to do take offs and be able to produce robust cost plans. Strong communication and numeracy skills are essential with the use of conquest. Ideally you will have a Degree with a valid driving license and a CSCS Card.
